Michel SAULNIER
Double-bassist. Born, Paris, 1953, son of Maurice SAULNIER, viola player with the French National Orchestra and Pierette SAULNIER, chorist with the Monte-Carlo Opera. He learnt cello in Boulogne between the ages of 8 and 15
then, in, 1968, discovered jazz and improvisation. He took up the double-bass and won a prize at the Versailles CNR with Jacques CAZAURAN.
From 1975 to 1979 he worked with Louis SCLAVIS and then came into contact with ARFI at the Avignon Festival where he guested with WORKSHOP DE LYON, MARVELOUS BAND and MARMITE INFERNALE.
Since 1991 he has played in the Steve Waring quartet alongside Alain GIBERT and Christian VILLE.

The Compagnie LUBAT from 1991 to 1992.

Patrick LAURUOL is a self-taught double bass player.
He began writing music for theatre before becoming involved in all that might be described as ‘free music’.
Encountering Peter Kowald in Paris proved decisive.
A period of improvisation with painters (Claire ALARY Christophe ALTAYRAC Ali SILEM) in Angers followed, at the same time as innovatory work in dance in Paris (Corinne TARAUD, the CANALDANSE company) alongside such musicians as Fred WALLICH, Thierry MARIETAN and Pascal MARZAN.
During two yeasr, an equally decisive collaboration with Mireille BOISSELIER linked double bass and poetic texts, essentially in the Angers-Nantes region.
Current projects are oriented towards either duos or trios with Tony BAKER, Yves ORILLON (AFFEKT project), Richard ZENOU, Jérome PARESSANT, as well as that sweet dumb dontchalovehim slouch of a muttonchop Michel SAULNIER.

Jerome Paressant has explored the field of electronic music in confrontation with jazz improvisation since 1998. The outcome of this musical research was the creation of ABRAXAS PROJEKT
... Parallel to Abraxas Projekt, Jerome Paressant has collaborated on several projects that combine music, theatre and dance. He has pursued a rock project with Jas and a strictly electronic project with DoWnTaO, whose second album "VERTIGO (opus 11)" came out in 2008.
